On September 13, 2022, Luye Life Sciences Group and the Ministry of Innovative Development of the Republic of Uzbekistan signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for strategic collaboration on the Uzbekistan Innovative Vaccine Center Project and on jointly promoting comprehensive cooperation in the vaccine field between China and Central Asian countries, on the eve of the 22nd meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Shanghai Cooperation ൩Organization (SCO). The vaccine center will be located in the Toshkent Province and enjoy strong support from both sides. The collaboration will contribute to the economic development of the two countries, the pavement of a “Health Silk Road” in Central Asia, and the welfare of people in countries along it.

Against the backdrop of the COVID-19 pandemic and profound changes taking place in the world, both unseen in a century, Luye Life Sciences Group and the Ministry of Innovative Development of Uzbekistan will jointly build the Uzbekistan Innovative Vaccine Center to address the huge unmet needs for vaccines in not only Uzbekistan but the whole Central Asia and facilitate the development of the vaccine industry in the region. This endeavor will include the construction of a vaccine center, development and manufacturing of vaccines, staff training, technical exchanges, and product promotion. It is a response to the appeal for “building a global community of health for all” and wil🌳l contribute to the rollout of the Belt and Road Initiative and the fulfillment of China’s promise “to strive to make its coronavirus vaccines a global public good”. The two sides will prioritize Uzbekistan for the collaboration, while promoting information exchanges and partnerships among the SCO member states, set up long-term communication channels, and or🌊ganize various types of exchanges.
